The article examines the essential actions of the tutor in an interactive learning environment within the context of distance education. The author highlights the importance of harmony between the key components of Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) — tutoring, interactivity, and student autonomy — to ensure the quality of learning. The tutor's role is emphasized as crucial, not only for their content expertise but also for their ability to foster positive interactions, encourage student autonomy, and create a supportive affective environment. The article suggests strategies and practices that tutors can adopt to enhance the learning experience, emphasizing the importance of interpersonal relationships and effective communication between tutor and student.
