Parental Discourse and Symptomization in Child Psychoanalysis
Keywords:
Parental discourse, Psychoanalysis with children, SymptomizationAbstract
Given the diversity that clinical practice presents to us, we are frequently invited to reflect on the place of parents in the psychoanalytic clinic with children, as well as on the connection between the symptom presented by the child and the parental discourse. This work aims to reflect on the child's symptom interspersed with the parents' speech. As well as, present reflections on the relationship between the child's symptom and the place occupied by it in the structure of parental desire. For this, anexploratory research was carried out, through a bibliographical review, based on psychoanalysis. We initially discuss the technique of child psychoanalysis, then we present reflections on the place of parents in the analysis of children and we reflect on parental discourse and the child's symptoms. It is worth noting that the functioning of the child analytical process takes place in a particular way, so that demands that are external to the child must be taken into consideration, including the parents throughout the treatment process, however, without ever disregarding the child.
