The self-perceived leadership styles in a mining company

Regardless of the size or scope of action, organizations establish goals, and for these to be achieved, leaders play an important role within groups of employees. In these groups, women stand out. In Brazil, most leadership positions are held by men and in the mining sector it has been no different. This article aimed to identify the self-perceived leadership styles of women who work in a Coordination function in the maintenance and operation sectors of a mining company. The methodology used was the quantitative descriptive type and field research was carried out. The research universe used was women who occupy leading positions in the maintenance and operation areas of a mining company. A closed questionnaire was applied and data analysis was descriptive statistics. A total of 14 respondents collaborate with the survey. After analyzing the data, it was verified that the self-perceived leadership style that prevailed among the leaders was the democratic style. Regarding the perceived leadership role, the group showed a tendency towards democratic leadership, median to autocratic and less liberal.
