Abstract

The purpose of this article is to study the reverse logistics of solid waste (packaging) of the products sold in furniture companies, pointing ways to design a system that meets the National Policy on Solid Waste. The idea is that to be feasible and assist in better addressing the packaging for recycling, collaborating with social actions aimed at sustainability. The mission is to address the challenges of implementation of the reverse logistics in companies belonging to the retail market of furniture in Belo Horizonte, seeking to contribute to the environment by recycling or reusing the packaging of the products marketed. By associating concepts of reverse logistics organizations become able to obtain competitive advantages in the whole market. Through a qualitative research through multiple case studies, using as a tool a semi-structured questionnaire, it was possible to understand current practices of reverse logistics of moving packagings in Belo Horizonte retail sector. The outcome results detected operational difficulties and obstacles for the implementation of this proposal, the importance of reverse logistics for organizations and probable actions that may help the mobile companies to practice the commitment of responsibility for the packaging waste.
