During the Covid-19 pandemic, isolation measures and social restrictions became a factor in society to prevent the spread of the virus; only essential services were kept running, and as a result, the operation of companies considered non-essential had economic impacts. For this reason, in addition to the health crisis, a global economic/financial instability was established. The general research objective is to identify whether the context of the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted the growth in the number of Individual Microentrepreneurs in the State of Minas Gerais. The work method consists of a documental research of descriptive nature and qualitative approach, constituting as a universe the entrepreneurs of Minas Gerais opting for the MEI and as a sample the entrepreneurs who became MEI's during the pandemic. The results showed that Minas Gerais had an increase in the number of MEI's, showing a growth of 14.59% from March 2020 to February 2021 and 1.44% from February 2021 to March 2022, when compared to the period from March 2019 to February 2020.
