Abstract

This article aims to analyze the reflexes produced by Law 13.964/2019 in the Brazilian criminal execution, especially in the progression of the regime provided for by the law. The growing number of criminal recidivism in the country, presented by the National Council of Justice, in the article Reentries and Reiterations of Infractions, states that about 42% of individuals over 18 years of age return to the system, generating a greater need for the State to protect the population in general and also promote ways to reduce criminal recidivism in the country. In contrast to this reality, Law 13,964/2019, known as the Anti-Crime package, was drafted and sanctioned, which has a stricter character in relation to regime progression and promoted several changes in Brazilian criminal legislation.
