Abstract

The theme presented aims to examine the effectiveness of the Maria da Penha Law and its criminological aspects in the study of law. The aim of the study will be to demonstrate an analysis based on individual and sociological factors related to the aggressor's conduct and social behavior in the victim's face. It visualizes mechanisms of social control, particularly formal control, and the judge is representing the state with the objective of preventing violence against women. Criminology is becoming increasingly important in understanding the meaning of feminicide that is qualifying in the Law 11.340/06.
