Transportation is of great importance not only within an organization but also for the economic development of an entire society. Thus, this article has as general objective to analyze the influence of the flow of passenger trains on the daily flow of iron ore trains, in the rail network of the Laboreau yard, Itabira - Minas Gerais. In the search for a better understanding of this study, it was deployed in two specific objectives: to know the flow of iron ore and passenger trains in Itabira - Minas Gerais and to analyze the influence of the passenger train on the flow of iron ore trains and if there are other restrictions on the perception of rail traffic controllers. In this paper, the research aims to answer the following question: what are the influences of passenger trains on the daily flow of iron ore trains in the Laboreau, Itabira-MG? To answer this objective the study used a qualitative approach, the research of descriptive character, the field research method, the Census is the non-probabilistic, the collection of data of semi-structured nature, the research unit is the train station Engenheiro Laboreau where are the controllers of the railway yard and train flows. From the analysis carried out, it was verified that the passenger train has a negative influence on the daily flow of iron ore trains, since besides restrictions such as maintenance, weather, unforeseen accidents and even popular demonstrations, a dedicated line to perform maneuvers and circulating the iron ore trains causes the other railway lines to work at the limit, causing delays and increasing schedule of the following days to reorganize and recompose losses.
