Abstract

This study had the purpose of raising, analyzing and discussing the impacts on labor costs applied to production, based on the implementation of participative management in a sugar and alcohol plant. Through the case study, the research collected the perceptions of the industrial manager and company documents for analysis, provided by the production and human resources departments. The results showed that the implementation of participatory management was decisive in the efficiency of the production sector and in the increase of the company's profitability, since the objectives were achieved efficiently through the reduction of operational costs and through the involvement of workers, aware of the need for survival and maintenance of the organization and its employment ties.
