Innovation is seen by companies as a competitive differential, as well as a means for survival and market sustainability. Therefore, the need to innovate in products and processes must be carried out continuously. Companies can evolve their internal P&D in the search for new tech nologies, or interact with other actors of the Innovation System, such as universities and research institutes, to make technological leaps. However, the interaction between universities / research institutes - companies is complex, and according to theorists there are variables of obstacles in this type of relationship that must be observed and overcome. In this context, the present work carried out a case study about the interactions between the Ezequiel Dias Foundation and companies / other institutions in order to understand the main actors in the relationships and barrier factors present in the interactions. Considering the importance in the research and development of new technologies for public health, it is expected that the present work can contribute with the Foundation in establishing new partnerships and influencing internal changes.
