Abstract

As result of technological evolution, today’s society is marked by the continuous use of computer electronics and the technological advances that emerge at all times. However, mo dernity brings challenges, and among them, there is a concern to correctly target the obsolete waste, components and equipment resulting from this consumption. Therefore, there is a need to work towards the balance between economic / industrial development and preservation of nature through appropriate reuse and disposal. With this in view, the general objective of this work was to verify the behavior of university consumers about the disposal of electronics and reverse channels. To contextualize the theme, we dealt with issues related to reverse logistics, consumption and pro grammed obsolescence and electronic waste. The methodology used is of quantitative descriptive character, through field research with questionnaire application in a Higher Education Institution and basic statistical analysis. As a result, respondents felt that companies should adopt reverse logistics channels, but as consumers do not consider this factor to be decisive in the purchase deci sion. In addition, they stated that they would not be willing to pay a higher price on a product for the existence of such a return policy in companies.
