Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze the risks faced by economic activities in Brazil, as well as to investigate the reasons why they are vulnerable in the market and prone to failure. This analysis is essential to understand the need to adopt alternatives that guarantee the continuity of economic activities and avoid the premature closure of these sources of wealth generation and optimization of scarce resources. As will be demonstrated, insurance emerges as an auxiliary mechanism for entrepreneurs to deal with daily risks, as they become instruments for managing and preventing liabilities. In this sense, they should be used as strategic planning tools so that economic activities are not only established, but also remain active, enabling business growth and, consequently, economic growth. This study represents a challenge for the insurance and reinsurance market in Brazil and meets the need to sustain economic activities, becoming an important ally for economic sustainability.
