Abstract

This article aims to investigate the worsening of hunger in Brazil after the COVID-19 pandemic. For that, an analysis is made about the right to adequate food and the data that point to the increase of hunger in the country; Some of the dilemmas related to hunger faced in the post-pandemic scenario are raised and public policies of an emergency nature that aim to reduce this situation are mentioned. It was found that the country, despite being a major food exporter, was not immune to the harmful socioeconomic effects in the post-pandemic scenario, which increased hunger in Brazil. It is noteworthy that the fight against hunger is based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Federal Constitution of 1988 and public policies carried out by Federal Government Programs that aim to reduce the number of people in a state of poverty - here understood as those who they are unable to provide themselves with the existential minimum. The research was carried out through a bibliographical and documental review.
