Abstract

Small and medium enterprises (PME) Brazilian in their first years of life faced with various challenges including survival. The difficulties inherent in new business are large and most enterprises do not survive the first three years of activity. The scarcity of resources and in some cases, the limited knowledge, further contributes to the high mortality rate. In order to change this context, the business strategy is presented to SMEs with a focus on differentiation strategy. The main obstacle in the adoption of such discipline by beginners is the paradigm of complexity and high cost. The following text aims to demystify such ideas and show not only the feasibility, but also the need for the strategy as a means of survival and long-term development.
