Abstract

Micro and small enterprises (MSEs) are gaining increasing prominence in the Brazilian economy. Currently, this segment represents the majority of formal employment in the country and comes every year, showing an increase in the potential to create new jobs. However, this potential is being compromised by the high mortality rates of MSEs in their first years of life. In the search for solutions to mitigate this situation, the strategy of cooperation networks is presented in order to minimize the impact of high competition, which is one of the factors that lead to premature closure of small businesses. This paper presents the concepts and advantages of cooperation networks and shows that such a strategy is not only feasible but also indicated the context of MSEs.
