Abstract

The research aims to analyze the dynamics of employment of Sniper Police and their alternative tactic “precision shooting” in the management of critical incidents with hostages localized process. Based on the Brazilian penal framework we started with the assumption of the absence of the unlawful use of Police Sniper alternative tactic as well as the crime of improper omission that may eventually be applied to this figure in legal cases requiring the use of shooting accuracy during the intervention in an incident hostage located. We attempted to discuss the legal institutions applied to the case in order to bring out the reality regarding the use of this alternative. For this work we used the type of Qualitative Research, regarding the approach to the problem, aiming to immersion in context with the interpretive perspective views of conducting the research, seeking to detail the descriptions of phenomena and behaviors related to the subject, interviews and behavior analysis of a sniper (specimen under study) about his experience, comparison of legal references, concepts and legal approach on the subject, studies of past cases and context with current doctrine on the subject.
