Abstract

This interdisciplinary work aims to analyze and present psychopathy, demonstrating the diference between the psychopath and the psychotic personalities, setting the theoretical concepts and actions that characterize the profile of the psychopath, especially that one with high level of psychopathy. The study is based on the analysis of the criminal code and other disciplines applied to law, with conclusive opinion stated by the group. It is addressed the case of Marcos Antunes Trigueiro, which was notorious in the media in 2010, analyzing the concepts related to the case, within the sphere of law and finaly analyzes the Psychology applied to law, the criminal law and psychiatry in Brazil, stimulating reflections. Therefore, this study seeks to present notions about the warning signs of high level psychopathy existent in some individuals, and their diagnosis being the responsibility of medical doctors and psychologists. In addition, it is addressed in the text the issue of criminalization and the penalties applied to psychopathic individuals.
