Episodes of cruelties in the domestic and family sphere have been the women's struggle over the centuries. To stop the attacks of their aggressors, they demanded mechanisms from the State to prevent and eliminate gender-based violence. After 13 years in force of Law 11.340 / 06 dealing with domestic and family violence against women, there are still spaces that are not filled by a single criminal system and show the need for new proposals in a society that is constantly changing. This study aims to examine the implementation of Restorative Justice as an option, not to undo the model proposed by the Maria da Penha Law, but to function as a complementary tool that helps to curb and prevent domestic and family violence. To achieve this purpose, methods of bibliographic research, legal documents and probabilistic data on the satisfaction and efficiency of legislation that seeks to protect women were used, as well as the responses of the courts of justice that have restorative practices. The results obtained highlighted the substantial contribution of Restorative Justice to the restoration of homes now modified by violence.
