Analysis of law nº 13.104/2015 about the reducing the number of feminicide

Abstract

This Paper aims to analyze the Law 13.104/2015 with regard to reducing the number of feminicide in Brazil. This Law was created in a context of representative social pressure for solutions to reduce the deaths of women in the country. Using the method of bibliographic and documentary research, documents and scientific publications such as books, scientific papers, periodicals, monographs, jurisprudences and websites about the theme were analyzed. The work evaluates the context that preceded the Law, pointing out the means used to deal with the case in question; explain why the law was created and who it protects; analyze the scenario after the law and compare the before and after, building a critical approach with regard to its effectiveness, given that the statistical evidence reveal a spread at the rate of the feminicide five years after the promulgation.
