Promoting oral health in childhood is essential for preventing dental caries and developing healthy habits throughout life. Educational strategies in the school environment have proven effective in building self-care and reducing oral health problems. This study aimed to describe the actions developed by the Projeto Escovando Sorrisos (Brushing Smiles Project), highlighting its contribution to the promotion of children's oral health. This is a descriptive experience report based on educational and preventive activities. The actions enabled greater engagement from children and their guardians regarding correct oral hygiene practices, the appropriate use of fluoridated toothpaste, and the importance of a low sugar diet. The Project proves to be an effective strategy for oral health promotion and education, aligned with the guidelines of the Unified Health System (SUS) and the National Oral Health Policy.
