TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCES IN DENTAL RADIOLOGY AND THEIR IMPLICATIONS FOR CLINICAL PRACTICE
Keywords:
dental radiology, artificial intelligence, computed tomography, diagnosis, patient safetyAbstract
The article addresses technological advances in dental radiology, focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). These innovations have transformed clinical practice, enabling faster, more accurate, and safer diagnoses, as well as optimizing the planning and execution of dental treatments. AI helps reduce human errors, increasing diagnostic accuracy and treatment efficiency, while CBCT provides high-resolution 3D images with lower radiation exposure. However, the adoption of these technologies also presents ethical challenges, such as patient privacy and informed consent issues. The integration of these tools must be done in a balanced way, respecting both technical advancements and professional ethics, aiming to improve patient safety and the quality of dental care.
