Abstract

Given the current situation of Brazilian transport modes, the logistics of organizations has been suffering negative effects that delay and increase the final costs of their products. That said, the present study exposes the main challenges of this process and its impacts for companies. Its objective is to analyze the bottlenecks of the transport infrastructure, in order to indicate the main demands of the sector and facilitate the identification of points for improvement. For this, three specific objectives were defined, which are to analyze the current situation, identify the challenges and compare the use of existing modes. All were achieved through a descriptive study, which, with the help of the document analysis technique, allowed the collection, comparison and analysis of data on the subject. Exploration showed that low government investment reduces the diversity of modes used and generates saturation in the road network. Therefore, transportation increases its cost and takes longer to perform. With this, it was possible to map obstacles to the use of the main modals existing in the country.
