The industrial and economic scenario is increasingly competitive and there are strategies of great value that companies can adopt as a tool for improvement, among them, quality stands out, companies have adopted practices to implement programs that propose improvement of your services and products. In order to improve their business results, achieve a recognized quality standard and increase the size and loyalty of their customers, many companies seek to implement a quality management system as an aid in the optimization, control and continuous improvement of their processes. These management systems are intended to guide each part of the organization to carry out its activities in the right way and time, as a way of achieving a common goal: customer satisfaction. Its general objective is to describe quality management and its importance for the productive business segments in the search for favorable results in the final product presenting the main models and quality management tools. The present work was developed through a bibliographic review, the research started in studies that approach the theme. The development took place in a descriptive way in order to obtain results that provide the reader with a systemic view on the topic addressed. It was possible to contextualize an economic scenario if it suffers constant variations in a period of the last 10 years.
