Abstract

Considering the development of the disregard theory in Brazil, and the consequent doctrinal classification, this article seeks to explore the classic, smaller and reverse disregard theories from an epistemological point of view. The disregard of the subdivisions are made according to Parentoni’s work, whom believes it is the smaller theory a separate institute from the disregard doctrine. Which leads to analyze the inverse theory from the criteria brought by the smaller theory to be able to conclude whether it is or it is not suited to the classical theory, and consequently its authenticity as a theory of disregard. As this paper intends an epistemological reading of such classification, the theoretical epistemology of scientific knowledge used is the one of Imre Lakatos. The aim is to study the implications of the separation made by Parentoni between classical theory - authentic disregard - and smaller theory - different institute - in his analysis of the inverse theory, and check the current state of disregard as a research program.
