Abstract

The knowledge generated in the study of scientific management have brought the rationalization of the production process. This fact has increased the production considerably, reducing both time and cost per product produced at once. However, the spoils obtained, were not sufficient to eliminate the chances of fallibility in the process. In that sense, when organizing the enterprise activity in order to produce goods and services, the entrepreneur should keep in mind that there is always the possibility of failures occurrence. Understanding and minimizing the occurrence of faults is fundamental, which translates into the maintenance of the project in order to create a product or service, or perhaps even the company itself. Therefore, a subject not less important, which generates discomfort in business sector is: What is the origin of the duty to indemnify? From these premises, the aim of this study is not to exhaust the discussion, but it shows an up-to-date view and improves to understand some of the many opportunities in the productive system failures.
