Abstract

This work was elaborated from the theme of police and human rights, with the objective of reflecting on the culture of human rights, as well as of the change in the Public Security institutions after implementation of this philosophy. The change in the profile of becoming security and public safety professionals became necessary from the social evolution of the country, which is currently governed by a Democratic State of Law and full exercise of citizenship. The Military Police of Minas Gerais, being an institution responsible for the application of the law strictly follows the legal determinations, adjusting the training and preparation of the military police the tactics and techniques that prioritize the defense of citizenship and fundamental rights, especially under the philosophy of Human Rights. In this context, the text proposes a quick review of the theme from contemporary authors, seeking to associate theoretical reflection on the citizen’s thematic and practice that today guides the PMMG’s military conduct.
