Abstract

Considering the need for organizations to foster the creativity of their employees, this research aimed to analyze the factors that influence the stimuli and barriers to organizational creativity. For this, a qualitative approach was used, carrying out a descriptive field research with 49 workers from the city of Floriano/PI, seeking to identify the factors that influence organizational creativity, being inhibiting factors or factors that favor the development of creativity. Qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis. The main results found demonstrate that creativity is an indispensable element in modern organizations. Furthermore, there is still a taboo related to stimuli and barriers to organizational creativity, and managers have difficulties in implementing measures that encourage and eliminate these barriers. The development of creativity provides a great competitive differential, regardless of the area of ​​activity, and this study can serve as a subsidy for governments, organizations and society in its implementation.
