Abstract

This article aimed to explain the importance of developing managers for a better organizational performance in companies in the hotel industry in Belo Horizonte and the Metropolitan Region. Through bibliographical studies and qualitative, descriptive and field research, it was possible to explain the importance of developing leaders, improving leadership techniques, aiming at organizational performance. After defining the topics of the Theoretical Framework; conducting structured interviews, through an intentional non-probalistic sample, with three managers of different hotel chains, an owner of one of these chains and a specialist in training and development of managers and the treatment of data carried out, through content analysis, it was noticed that the organizations studied have leaders, managers and managers in constant development. However, they must always keep pace with business volatility to achieve success. The execution of this work proved to be relevant to reinforce the importance of preparing managers so that they know how to deal with the internal and external contingencies of the organization.
